"Hi, you can also buy the icing from weigh and save in the granger market, i'm sure you could find how to make it on the internet. i think Simon and Clare's advice about buying it makes sence. My mum used to make wedding cakes and birthday…"

"it is not a problem or building up the height of the cake, it is more to do with width of the cake. a conventional oven will not take a 40cm cake. you also can't buy a 40cm tin. it's ok though we're going to reduce it in size to…"

Cake Planning

have started to plan out our cake, looking at the plan that was on ebay we think the way to go is to make our own cake tins. i'm not sure we'll find ones to buy that will be useful for making the shape of the Dunston rocket.

Hi Katy
In regards to your question about your oven not being big enough!
I would suggest that you bake the cake in tins or trays and layer it using cake boards and dowling. you can buy the dowls from either a cake shop or a cheaper version from a D.I.Y shop that you can cut to the required size
By doing this you will ensure that your cake is quite sturdy
Hope this helps you out!
Any more questions drop me a line
