We are starting to put the final touches to our St Oswald's Hospice cake. This is the first time we've done anything like this and would really appreciate some suggestions on how to make windows! We've been advised to melt down Fox's glacier mints - is this the way to go?
I guess this is a bit late to reply - I've been up to my ears in cake today and the kitchen floor is so sticky that I've found it difficult to move. Melted mints does work well for windows. Put them on a tray on baking parchment and put them in a moderate oven for about ten minutes. The house smells like a toothpaste factory for days afterwards but who cares?
