On Bank Holiday Monday August 26th 2013 a giant, edible map of the Newcastle and Gateshead will be built. NewcastleGateshead Cake City will be the fourth event in the series following Cakebook Britain in 2012, Cakebook North in 2011 and the original flashmob Cakebook in 2010.

Teams of amateur and professional bakers from around the region and beyond are invited to choose and build their favourite landmark site in cake. If you'd like to take part, first register on this website then click The Cakes tab above for further details.

The creations will be placed on a 100sq meter fully edible map on the indoor concourse at the Sage Gateshead to create a visual and gastronomic feast as Cake City bakers watch and enjoy some great picnic food. Plus foodie fun for all the family, details to be announced.
